Julia Louis Dreyfus born as Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis Dreyfus on January 13th, 1961 in New York City is a beautiful comedy actress, who won multiple awards for her marvellous performances in television sitcoms and soaps. She was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Arts degree at Northwestern University in 2007.

Julia Louis Dreyfus was born to writer Judith and Gerard Louis Dreyfus, a Frenchman who inherited the family's Louis Dreyfus Group that deals in commodities trading and merchandising. Julia’s father besides being a businessman is also an attorney. Julia's parents got divorced during her childhood and her mother later got married to L. Thompson Bowles. Julia has a half-sister Lauren Bowles through her mother's second marriage who is also an actress. Julia Louis Dreyfus lived in several states with her mother and stepfather. She graduated from Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland and later went to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois to study theater. While at college, Julia became a member of Delta Gamma sorority.

NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' that launched many a career in Hollywood has also given a breakthrough to Julia Louis Dreyfus. Julia Dreyfus was a cast member on NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' from 1982 to 1985. It was here Julia met Larry David who would later co-create America's most popular television sitcom "Seinfeld" along with writer-actor Jerry Seinfeld.

Julia began her movie career in 1986 with a minor role in "Troll" and has since appeared in several films and television soaps and sitcoms. Julia Louis-Dreyfus had a recurring role in NBC's sitcom "Day by Day" {25 episodes: 1988-1989}. It was in 1990 her biggest moment came. Her breakthrough role of Elaine Benes on NBC's television sitcom "Seinfeld" {174 episodes: 1990-1998} made her an overnight celebrity in America. Critics hailed her performance and she went on to receive number of awards each year for her funny performance on "Seinfeld". Julia Louis-Dreyfus also had recurring roles in "Watching Ellie" {12 episodes: 2002-2003} which was created by her husband Brad Hall; "Arrested Development" {4 episodes: 2004-2005} and "The New Adventures of Old Christine" {46 episodes: 2006-2008}. Julia Dreyfus has also appeared in films such as "Soul Man" and Woody Allen's "Hannah and Her Sisters" {both 1986}, "Christmas Vacation" {1989}, "Fathers' Day" {1997} and TV movie "Geppetto" {2000}.

Julia Louis Dreyfus won 5 American Comedy Awards twice back-to-back from 1993-1995 and 1997-1998; a Golden Globe in 1994; an Emmy in 1996; and received several nominations for awards. She also won an Emmy in 2006 for her performance in "The New Adventures of Old Christine".

Julia Louis Dreyfus married actor Brad Hall in 1987. The couple together has two sons named Henry Hall born 1992 and Charles Hall born 1997. Julia Dreyfus dated Brad Hall since their college days at Northwestern University. They have also acted together in "Troll" {1986}.
